HOW IS A COMIC ABOUT HERCULES SO FUCKING GREAT?

Like, I almost didn’t even read Hercules because it’s Hercules, but it’s actually one of the best new comics to come out of the reboot (not counting the greats that rebooted like Squirrel Girl and Ms. Marvel). It’s about putting ancient mythos into the modern age and then having to deal with the cognitive dissonance of that, and Gilgamesh is crashing on Herc’s couch and won’t take off his hoodie, and Herc’s landlady keeps giving him shit for being a loser, and Tiresias is an old-punk genderqueer clockmaker. And it’s just really enjoyable.

Hercules! *throws up hands*

[Hercules 2, 2016]

(Obligatory classics nerd moment: Tiresias was born male but was made female by the gods for a period of time, and when he was reverted to male someone asked him who enjoyed sex more, men or women. Tiresias replied that women enjoyed sex exactly seven times more than men did. Ladies.)

Reblogging for Tiresias.
