Black Characters Who Survived Horror Movies: Part One

It’s both Women in Horror month and Black History Month and I noticed that I was focusing way more on the former than the latter, so here’s a list of characters who defied one of the most prevalent horror stereotypes: not only did they not die first, they made it all the way through. Even if a couple of these characters did not survive the sequels, sure, their accomplishment should not go unnoticed. There have actually been quite a few black protagonists to make it through horror movies, so hopefully I’ll have a few more of these posts before the end of the month. And beyond that, too, because positive representation should be highlighted & shared.

I guess Ghostbusters doesn’t really count as horror, but Winston Zedmore survived that one too.
