transgirlnausicaa:

yeah that terf post about how trans women are biologically unnatural is laughably bad especially because there’s no defensible reason to have a problem with medical transition.

your pearl-clutching about the “natural” human experience belongs with its contemporaries a few centuries ago.

the human body & human societies & human technologies have been interconnected systems for thousands of years & there’s no intellectually honest distinction regarding the “naturalness” thereof between elective bodily alterations here & now versus any other time and any other place.

after all, hormone therapy is administered to menopausal cis women with no outcry from terfs. spironolactone is administered as a treatment for high blood pressure with no outcry from terfs.

endocrine-based birth control is administered to cis women & girls with no outcry from terfs.

elective hysterectomies and vasectomies are not seen as unnatural or bio-hacking to terfs.

so the picture that I see is that medical treatments are only “unnatural” or “unnecessary” or “frivolous” or “patriarchal” or “obeying the medical industry” when you talk about elective medical treatments for trans women.

that’s transmisogyny. totally transparent.

Nothing humans do is natural; or alternately, anything humans do is natural *for humans.*
