I think this repeated phenomena is so indicative of the necessity of coalition between cis women, gender-non-conforming women, and trans women. Like I really do think this violence comes down to a legislative and social regulation of womanhood.
It does. The collateral damage is intentional. Policing trans women also polices cis femininity, reinforcing patriarchal gender norms, which is ultimately what the GOP cares about. Meanwhile, TERFs continue to cozy up to extreme right conservatives. They need to stop pretending they are at all radical or support any kind of progress. They’re just the religious right with a feminist coat of paint slapped on top.
