I have a question that’s… out of the norm. I’m a heavy girl, and I’ve no clue how to dress myself or where to shop for trendy, cute plus sized clothes. I’m not trying to cover up or hide, but a lot of plus sized clothes I see in stores are ugly and shapeless, so I just stick to jeans + tees, which make me feel gross. Do you have any suggestions, please?

You’re asking the wrong fat girl for fashion advice because I would wear a silk robe 24/7 if it was acceptable. I get like 90% of my non-t-shirt-and-jeans clothes from Torrid, though.

Modcloth goes up to 3/4x & eShakti goes up to 36, allows you to customize things like sleeve & hem length, with the option to have your clothes custom fit to your body for not much more (like $10). (eShakti is what my friend who’s waaaay bigger on the bottom than the top uses & she looks great!)

If you have any sewing abilities at all, or know someone who does, or there’s a place nearby that does alterations – maybe buy whatever size fits the widest part of you and then take it in to fit more closely everywhere else?
