Why does this GIF I’m trying to put up keep showing up as a still image of merely the first frame? I don’t know Tumblr’s GIF rules. Is it too big of a file size? (This is not a rhetorical question. If you know the answer please reply.)

Halp?

Per Quora, “According to the Tumblr Documentation, photos can’t be larger than 10MB to be uploaded. Photos of that size will however be compressed when uploaded. Different rules apply for animated GIF’s, they can’t be larger than 1MB and can’t be wider than 500px.” Unwrapping Tumblr in 2014 added that the size limit was increased to 2MB, so I’m not sure: According to the Tumblr Documentation, photos can’t be larger than 10MB to be uploaded.
