Spouse wanted to rewatch The Return of Dr. X. (1939) today. This is a pretty crazy film in many respects, one of which is that Humphrey Bogart in this scene kind of looks like H.P. Lovecraft. In his other scenes he does not wear a hat, and looks more like a Gothed-up Bogart holding a rabbit.
