This is quite a shocker. I didn’t think it could get worse ,but it did.
I grew up in an area like that. (Although I didn’t believe the thing about college or having shit handed to them.) Part of the problem is people don’t know what they don’t know, and they have absolutely NO idea that what they learned growing up simply isn’t true, and it’s in part because, as stated above, there’s so few PoC around.
It’s hard to get woke when you don’t even realize you’re not woke, or there’s a reason to get woke.
