This is Rocky! As far as I know about possums – which isn’t much – I’m assuming that this is an old male, judging by the size of the skull, sagittal crest, and the worn canines. His nasal bone, all of his incisors, and some of his molars are missing (I also wasn’t paying attention and glued a molar in the wrong place 😅), but he’s otherwise in good shape.
My aunt and uncle found him dead behind their shed; he’d likely been hit by a car and crawled into their yard to die.
On another note, these are some of the prettiest and clearest pictures I’ve ever taken. 😌
