Life Lesson: Pwning fools on the internet is much less satisfying when they are too dumb to realize they have been pwned.

They ignored all of my common sense and facts. They responded by trying to counter-pwn me with a Family Guy gif. That’s like bringing a shoe to a gunfight. And yet in their heads they are like, “Oh snap! I burned you good, bro!”

Philosophically this disturbs me. How do you know when someone is actually pwned? If they don’t feel the epic pwnage, does that invalidate it? And if they truly believe they pwned me in return with a Family Guy gif, does that mean in a way they did pwn me? In my mind, what I did was ineffective and did not achieve my pwning goals. In their mind, they totally pwned me. Is this like currency? It only has value if people believe that it does. So as long as they believe they pwned me, I am pwned. They think therefore they pwned.

I think this might be the kind of situation that gave rise to the saying ““Never try to mud-wrestle a pig; you’ll get dirty and the pig will just enjoy it.”
