Well I’m guessing, based on the horrified reactions of many Americans, that there is no point asking if a Karen is called Kaz then.

Indubitably. I think it’s only names with r in the middle? We replace the r with a z and then drop the rest of the name.
Jerry= Jez
Kerry= Kez
Garry= Gaz or Gazza
Karen= Kaz
Barry= Baz
Sharon= Shaz or Shazza
Warren= Waz (pronounced like was)
So if I’m Loren, it would be Loz? Is that how you would truncate it?
