paramount heathers is shaping up to be even more homophobic, antisemitic, antiblack, and transphobic than i ever thought! if you’re still planning on watching it, i’d like you to consider that as of today:
paramount has posted a gif of heather chandler in a na/zi soldier’s cap
a clip confirming that heather mcnamara, a canon lesbian and the only black lead, will be killed off
yet another “uwu did you just assume my pronouns?!” joke
not confirmed yet, but heavily implied demonization and killing off of betty finn, an asian character
please PLEASE PLEASE do not give this show attention. don’t watch it. don’t post positive reviews and buzz about it.
This is probably an overly optimistic theory, but – in Iron Man 3, the Mandarin turned out to
be a persona deliberately crated by the real villains to inflame people’s
xenophobia; ST:Discovery looked at
first as though it had pulled a bait-and-switch with the casting, but by the
end of the season it turned out to be a double bait-and-switch. Is there any
chance this show will reveal in the opening episodes that the Heathers are the
heroes in this version, trying to figure out who’s doing all the killing?
