weird that jordan peterson thinks trans people asking to be referred to by particular pronouns is some precursor to State Violence but a society wherein women are expected to remain subservient to men is somehow a path to a violence free utopia
His whole philosophy is deeply incoherent and essentially just reactionary misogynistic bullshit painted over with a thin veneer of intellectualism. The ‘postmodernist neo-marxists are taking over academia and warping students minds’ schtick is a good example of this.
Anyone who’s read Marx knows that marxism isn’t post modernist in the least but that doesn’t matter when the people he’s speaking to are clueless alt right fuckheads and the people he’s arguing against are equally clueless identity politics obsessed liberals.
Put him in a room with a proper materialist and he’d be torn apart in 5 minutes. (Terry Eagleton would be my personal pick) but he’s too slippery for that; he expressly chooses people who are either going to weave a web of arcane argument no one outside of academia is really going to parse or journalists who are going to try and trip him up and throw statistics at him because they have no coherent politics of their own and that’s all they know how to do.
