@aifsaath and I were talking fairytales last night – the fact that some of them are thousands of years old, the shared themes etc. And then we noticed something.
In canon Obi-Wan Kenobi:
– is considered highly charming
– has impeccable manners
– never outright lies but frequently misleads
– takes his promises seriously
– (technically) stole babies…
– …and gave one to a lonely royal couple who wanted children of their own…
-… and the other to a poor but honest farmer and his wife
Hypothesis: Obi-Wan is a fey.
Further supporting arguments: Obi-Wan appears to dislike armour, and flying, both of which involve close or extended contact with potentially iron rich metal. While in hiding he still couldn’t shed all of his true name (Kenobi). No one would notice a changeling in the creche and smol Obi WAS very angry…
And oh the ideas.
An Obi-Wan who doesn’t know what he is still abiding by the traditional rules and being really confused about it all…
One who does confronting Palpatine in a furious rage because he has first claim on Anakin’s soul…
