Yesterday the cheery young woman at the grocery-store
checkout used the expression “super-duper” about something, and the customer
behind me, who was at least my age, asked “is that a new thing people are saying
these days, or did you make it up?” and I am once again reminded that I am
apparently a homeless wanderer in Time, out of place in every decade.
