heyyy so. i went into this movie expecting a really cute fishy romance, which it. almost was. but i had no idea there was gonna be extremely graphic, gratuitous violence, a hell of a lot of nudity and sex scenes (one dude literally fucks his wife on screen which was a lot), and a cat gets eaten on screen.

the cat thing was the most upsetting, the rest was just either really awkward or unsettling. but, yeah. i had no idea about any of that, and was kind of unnerved coming out of the film.

please be careful if you plan on seeing this movie. it’s not a bad movie, but i’ll admit i was really put off.

Yeah seriously! It was really really good, but I had a panic attack after the film because it was so stressful, and an employee had to literally hold my hand and lead me out of the theatre step by step, because I had such a bad shutdown …

hey yall ever heard of

sex and violence are a given but the rating system doesn’t say anything about violence towards animals which is a fair thing to warn people abt

the cat thing’s worth warning about for people who are extremely/specifically sensitive to animal death, but yeah the rest is fairly implicit and you should really make the small effort to look at the rating if youre worried about general sex or violence

if youre going to an R rated (or any) movie and are worried about specific kinds of violence not covered by the obvious details in the rating, the “parents guide” section of the movie’s IMDB page is typically pretty good and gives a brief description of any notable scenes, even with movies that are newly released

Reblogging because I appreciate the heads-up about the cat.
