El Fantástico mundo del doctor Coppelius, part 2. More B&E

Exit, pursued by a bear.

Why does he even have that

Dr. C suddenly remembers he’s a sinister E.T.A. Hoffman character…

…for about ten seconds and then things get goofy again.

I swear that in context this is not quite as naughty as it looks.

“You’re lucky I bother rescuing you.”

“I’m not a RealDoll, I’m not even a real blonde.”

You do realize there’s an actual blonde in the village who’s, like, less than half your age and has a crush on you visible from space? Choose life, dude.

There follows the part of the ballet where the story’s all wrapped up but there’s still fifteen minutes of dancing.

THE END

Last night I found a film on Youtube of El Fantástico Mundo Del Doctor Coppelius (1966), a version of the ballet Coppelia. Unfortunately the widescreen is squished.

Featuring dutch angles and finger-snapping! ^^

Blacksmiths!

Fangirling!

B&E!

Lesbians!

Pennywise the Clown!

Makeup tutorials!

Funny wigs!

and that’s just the first half, we haven’t even got to the impersonating-an-android bit yet.

mooncustafer:

TIL that stock photo sites also have stock vintage film
clips.

I haven’t watched this with the sound on yet, so
I’ve no idea what they’re talking about (other than frankfurter goulash, which
sounds kind of terrifying.)

ETA: Just finished listening to the sound, OMG:

“Frankfurter goulash?!”

“Don’t blanche, my dear….”

Wait there’s more!

HOW IS THAT IN ANY WAY ENOUGH GARLIC?!

WAIT – “SEASONING?” WHAT’S THE STUFF THAT’S JUST DESCRIBED
AS “SEASONING?” BECAUSE HE ADDS LIKE A QUARTER CUP OF IT

AND NOW THEY ARE DINING IN A ROOM WITH NO WALLS

VIVIAN GETS UP TO END THE SHOW, AND SLEZAK
STANDS, BOWS, KISSES HER HAND – AND SITS BACK DOWN AND KEEPS EATING
