History sure is amazing.
i would imagine this story is not connected explicitly, but it’s worth saying 12-century (i believe) england had a short-lived tradition of gay literature. it was relatively high profile and, during the time it was around, was probably the most that homosexuality was explicitly acknowledged in english literature for centuries
