I’ve put this in a new post partly not to derail the old one, but mostly bc Tumblr Mobile doesn’t do reblogs properly on my iPad.
I put trousers on for ths post, Tumblr. Don’t say I never gave you anything.
I have two banjoleles:
There’s an open-backed banjolele of dubious manufacture (probs US) from the 60s, and one with a resonator from (iirc) the 30s, that I bought in the UK.
Here’s the open-backed uke. FYI, I’m out of practice and haven’t been playing & singing with my uke since my voice dropped.
(If I had a real mic and wasn’t recording this on an iPad, you’d get better sound quality. Soz.)
Apparently there’s a one-video-per-post rule, so I’ll reblog this with the second video in a moment.
Oh. Nope. Genuinely not allowed to add another video. Okay. I’ll post the second half in ANOTHER POST, then. Jesus, what even is this site.
Oh, how lovely! It’s very plinky, what a great sound. (And thank you for answering my questions about how it’s tuned and such on the other post.) I quite like your singing too!
I’ve seen banjoleles around occasionally but never paid much attention because the ones I’ve seen have always been expensive and I wasn’t sure what the deal was. I’ll have to keep a closer eye out in future, maybe pick one up.
